Black Hole Entropy in M - Theory

چکیده
Extremal black holes in M-theory compactification on M × S are microscopically represented by fivebranes wrapping P × S, where M is a Calabi-Yau threefold and P is a four-cycle in M . Additional spacetime charges arise from momentum around the S and expectation values for the self-dual three-form field strength in the fivebrane. The microscopic entropy of the fivebrane as a function of all the charges is determined from a two-dimensional (0, 4) sigma model whose target space includes the fivebrane moduli space. This entropy is compared to the macroscopic formula. Precise agreement is found for both the tree-level and one-loop expressions.

The phase transition of corrected black hole with f(R) gravity
In this letter, we consider static black hole in f(R) gravity. We take advantage from corrected entropy and temperature and investigate such black hole. Finally, we study the $ P - V $ critically and phase transition of corrected black hole with respect to entropy and temperature. Here also, we obtain the heat capacity for the static black hole in $ f(R) $ gravity. This calculation help us...
متن کاملOrganizational Black Hole Theory
There are issues in organizations that require new theoretical formulation. Hence, metaphorical theorizing is used in the study of organizations to interpret them and understand their complexities. In this method, the organization is likened to an entity and one of the key features of that entity is generalized to the organization. It should be borne in mind that most organizational theories ar...
متن کاملStatistical Origin of Black Hole Entropy
The statistical entropy of black holes in M-theory is considered. Using the Matrix formulation of M-theory, we map the counting problem onto the original Gibbons-Hawking calculation of the thermodynamic entropy.
متن کاملBlack hole entropy and quantum information 1
We review some recently established connections between the mathematics of black hole entropy in string theory and that of multipartite entanglement in quantum information theory. In the case of N = 2 black holes and the entanglement of three qubits, the quartic [SL(2)] 3 invariant, Cayley's hyperdeterminant, provides both the black hole entropy and the measure of tripartite entanglement. In th...

متن کاملTwo Aspects of Black hole entropy in Lanczos-Lovelock models of gravity
We consider two specific approaches to evaluate the black hole entropy which are known to produce correct results in the case of Einstein’s theory and generalize them to LanczosLovelock models. In the first approach (which could be called extrinsic) we use a procedure motivated by earlier work by Pretorius, Vollick and Israel, and by Oppenheim, and evaluate the entropy of a configuration of den...
